I am honored to serve on the Urbandale School Board because I think every child deserves a free, comprehensive and well-rounded education.
As the daughter, granddaughter, daughter-in-law, sister, niece and friend of teachers, I have supported public schools my entire life. As a mother, I have become increasingly aware of the immense responsibility we have to ensure a quality education for our children and for children who do not have advocates.
I was board in Ames, Iowa to two graduate students at ISU. My father, raised in Mississippi where school funding has never been a priority and my mother, the daughter of a school teacher and Army Colonel attended school across the United States and chose to raise their family in Iowa because of its strong tradition of public education. When my husband, Andrew and I were faced with the same choice, we chose Urbandale for it's strong community and schools. We even purchased our house two blocks away from where Andrew grew up with his three brothers!
Thank you for your interest in my campaign and please don't hesitate to reach out.
